Are eggs with blood spots permissible to eat, and does this impact the permissibility of supermarket items containing eggs?

It is permissible to eat eggs with blood spots, but it is advisable to remove the spots if possible. However, it is not considered halal if the yolk is mostly blood or has entirely turned to blood. Any supermarket item that contains egg as an ingredient will have no issue unless it contains another impermissible ingredient.

وقال اللكنوي في نفع المفتي والسائل المطبوع في رسائله (٤/٣٨): بيضة مذرت (وفي المطبوع: ندرت، وهو مصحف) فهي نجسة لأنها تتحول دما، كذا في القنية عن خو أي الخمير الوبري رحمه الله، انتهى مختصرا۔
وقال القرافي في الذخيرة (٤/١٠٧): يوجد في وسط صفار البيض أحيانا نقطة دم يتولد منه فمقتضى مراعاة السفح في نجاسة الدم لا تكون نجسة، وقد وقع فيها البحث مع جماعة ولم يظهر غيره، انتهى. قال العدوي في حاشية شرح مختصر خليل للخرشي (١/٨٥): أي فتلك النقطة طاهرة على ما هو مقتضى عدم السفح، انتهى. ونحوه في حاشية الدسوقي (١/٥٠)، وراجع التاج والإكليل (١/١٣١) ومواهب الجليل (١/٩٣ و ٣/٢٣٤). وقال الدردير (١/٥٠): (إلا) البيض (المذر) بذال معجمة مكسورة وهو ما عفن أو صار دما أو مضغة أو فرخا ميتا فإنه نجس. وأما ما اختلط صفاره ببياضه من غير عفونة فاستظهروا طهارته، انتهى.
وذكر الفقيه أبو الليث في تأسيس النظائر أنه إذا لم يوجد في مذهب الإمام قول في مسألة يرجع إلى مذهب مالك لأنه أقرب المذاهب إليه، كذا في غمز عيون البصائر (٤/٢٣٢) ورد المحتار (٣/٤١١)۔

He has been an Imam in Rep of Ireland for several years. He has taught hifz of the Quran, Tajwid, Fiqh, and many other Islamic sciences to children and adults onsite and online extensively in the UK and Ireland. He taught at a local Islamic seminary for 12 years in the UK, where he was a librarian and a teacher of Islamic sciences. He currently resides in the UK with his wife.
