Answered by Mawlana Ilyas Patel
Question
I struggle with intrusive thoughts and sometimes whisper words of divorce without intending them. This has happened twice, and I fear it may happen again. Does this affect my marriage?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate.
I pray you are in good faith and health. Thank you for your question.
These thoughts should be disregarded entirely. It has not affected your marriage. Sacred Law is not designed to deceive people out of their marriages. No divorce has taken place in this situation. Allah is Merciful and does not hold His servants accountable for what is beyond their control. These are merely whispers from Shaytan.
May Allah guide us towards that which pleases Him, forgive us for our shortcomings, and ease our difficulties. Amin.
